In 1992 and 93 while serving as a coach for the Toronto Blue Jays former big leaguer Gene Tenace watched as the club posted MLB-record attendance figures during those back-to-back World Series championship seasons. In 1992 the turnstiles showed the Blue Jays breaking the 4 million figure with a final tally of 4028318 fans. The following season the club bested their previous record by verifying 4057949 fans in attendance. This lot includes a pair of silver-and-gold-painted sculpture plaques signifying the record turnouts. The 1992 version shows a baseball glove sporting five different fans inside its webbing alongside a bronze medallion touting the All-Time Attendance Record mark. The 93 sculpture shows an oversized baseball covered by seven fans underneath a baseball cap resting on home plate with a special gold medallion touting the 4057947 figure. Both sculptures weigh just over seven pounds each.
