This attractive 1975 American League All-Star Game ring was presented to Gene Tenace who turned in his finest campaign of his 15-year major league career that season batting .255 with career-bests in home runs (29) and RBIs (87). Tenace was a catcher and first baseman from 1969 through 1983 most notably with the Oakland Athletics where he was a mainstay on the 1972-74 dynasty that logged three consecutive World Series titles. Tenace was one of the top catchers of his era and won the1972 World Series Most Valuable Player Award.
Tenace was 0-3 in the National League's 6-3 victory over the rival American League at Milwaukee County Stadium. Ring has a dark blue stone on top surrounded by "Baseball All-Star" and "1975" below MLB logo on one side with "Tenace" atop ball and crossed bats on the other. Inside stamped with a horse jumping through the top loop of a large "B." Comes in a black felt jewelry box; all elements of the ring appear to be in essentially as-issued and problem-free condition. Ring size 8 ¾. Weight 18 grams.
