August 28 1905 Charles Ebbets hand written and signed letter on Brooklyn Ball Club letterhead sent to Brooklyn Dodger player Charlie Babb telling him "your services will not be required" after the end of the season on September 7 1905. Signed with a very strong "C. H. Ebbets" 9-10/10 looking vintage black ink signature. Babb was the regular Dodger shortstop in 1904 batting .265 in 151 games. He was having a rough 1905 playing in 75 games and hitting just .187 when he was released by Ebbets. Original wire photo to the left of the letter shows Ebbets in suit was run on the day he passed away 4/18/25. Original paper caption to photo on back. Letter has been cut down to a size of about 8 1/4" by 7 1/4" with angled edges at the top. Plaque below has the content of the letter. Framed to a size of 26 3/$' by 25 3/4".
