Here are five pair of game-worn flannel pants from some of the great stars from the colorful history of the Los Angeles Dodgers from the 1950's to the 1970's all items from the personal collection of the Los Angeles Dodgers' Hall of Fame manager Walt Alston. The headlining piece would be a pair of 1964 road pants from Maury Wills perhaps the unlikeliest of Dodger immortals who burst upon the baseball scene in 1959 amid the widespread skepticism of scouts and front office executives only to anchor a Dodgers offense that sometimes consisted of a Wills walk a stolen base or two and then maybe a groundout. He would win the National League's MVP Award in 1962 and genuinely transform the modern game elevating the stolen base to a place of prominence like no other point in the game's history. The pants are in wonderful condition with a team tag at the back of the waist with "Wills 32/23" and some additional embroidery in blue stitching. The appropriate Size 32 Wilson tagging appears at the right hip with "Set 1 1964" flag tag beneath and a faded wash instructions tag alongside. Additional Dodger Blue embroidery appears at the back of the waist with "R. Ogle." All four buttons are present and intact. Another Dodgers speedster from the dynasty years Willie Davis wore the Size 32 road pants that have the appropriate Rawlings tagging at the right hip and adjacent tagging with wash instructions and "Set 1 1966" the final year of the club's historic run of three pennants in four years. A team tag at the back of the waist has "Davis 33 23" embroidered in blue with some separation of the felt tagging on one corner. All four buttons are present and intact. The Bob Miller pants from 1958 are in similarly outstanding condition with Dodger Blue embroidery back of the waist with "R. Miller No. 50 24 1958" and some additional embroidery in blue stitching below on pocket interior of "Set 2." The appropriate Size 30 Wilson tagging appears at the right. Blue piping runs down each leg and around the belt loops on the waist. All four buttons are present and intact. Dodgers journeyman Gary Moore wore the penultimate pair of pants in this lot during his brief cup of coffee season in 1970: the pants have the W.A. Goodman & Sons tagging at the back of the waist with team tagging of "Moore 33/23 1970" in blue embroidery alongside. The sole button and zipper are intact and in working order. The final item in the lot is a pair of 1969 home pants from the club's slick-fielding first sacker Wes Parker. The cream-colored pants have the W.A. Goodman & Sons tagging at the back of the waist with team tagging of "Parker 33 ½ /26 ½ Set A - 69" in blue embroidery alongside and some extraneous hand printing in black marker. Sole button and zipper are intact and in working order. The lot presents a great opportunity to pick up important artifacts from key figures in Los Angeles Dodgers history. Comes with a Letter of Authenticity from the Family of Walter Alston.
