Offered here is an extremely scarce West Coast regional cardboard issue featuring the most important figure in baseball history: a 1921 Standard Biscuit Co. Babe Ruth, graded VG 3 by PSA. It is the single highest-graded PSA example, and only five copies have ever been graded by PSA and SGC combined. Needless to say, opportunities like this to own one of the last surviving examples rarely come up.

The Standard Biscuit Company of San Francisco, "Sole Makers of Paradise Sodas," inserted these cards into its 5 and 10-cent packages. As the reverse explains, "A photograph of a member of either the American or National League will be found in every 5 and 10 cent package of our products. There are 80 to the set." Distribution was confined to the San Francisco Bay Area, and few examples survived the era, especially of the set's marquee subject.

The front presents a sharp black-and-white photograph of Ruth in a throwing pose, glove on his right hand, beneath the caption "Babe Ruth R.F.—New York Americans." The issue captures the Bambino at the height of his powers. He followed his record-shattering 54-homer 1920 debut season in pinstripes with an even greater 59-homer campaign in 1921.

Condition is in line with the VG 3 assessment. The photograph retains strong contrast and clarity, and shows soft corner wear with only light toning. Centering is fantastic compared to most examples. The reverse text block is bold and legible. Encapsulated by PSA (Cert. #175227122).
