The offered game used bat was the only bat kept by Thurman Munson in his vast collection of personal memorabilia that was brought to auction several years ago. Rarely does a game used artifact mirror the character of its user to the degree this piece of well-used lumber does. The c.1971-79. Adirondack 302 model bat measures 35" long and weighs 32.2oz. Stamped on the knob end is the model #369A along with a vintage "15" written in black marker which is also present on the end of the barrel. "Thurman Munson" block letter stamping appears on the barrel end remaining uncommonly intact for a bat with such heavy use. The overall usage characteristics are simply incredible and indicative of being among Munsons most favored weapons. Heavy pine tar residue ball marks rack marks stitching impressions and grain swelling adorn its length. Based on usage characteristics condition and unimpeachable documented provenance from Munsons own estate the offered bat is without question the finest Thurman Munson bat extant.

Includes a color copy of a photograph picturing Munson using the identical Adirondack model bat and letter of provenance from Diana Munson. Additional; LOA from John Taube of PSA/DNA (Grade GU10).
