The Yankees arrived in spring training in 1926 hoping to reestablish themselves as contenders in the American League following their humbling performance from one year earlier. Also looking to bounce back after experiencing what amounted to a lost season in 1925 was Babe Ruth who rededicated himself to his profession during the off-season. After being admonished by none other than the President of the United States Calvin Coolidge himself who told Ruth that he was letting down the youth of America the Babe worked harder than ever before to get himself into top condition prior to the start of the season. The revitalized Yanks made it all the way to Game 7 of the 1926 World Series before succumbing to Grover Cleveland Alexander and his Cardinals in a deciding 3-2 victory.

Team signed baseballs from that 1926 American League Champion Yankees squad are inherently rare but more so in the outstanding condition represented here and furthermore in such complete form unmarred by even a single clubhouse representation. This official AL (Johnson) ball is signed by an extraordinary 30 members of the 1926 Yankees including HOFers Ruth Gehrig Pennock Combs Hoyt and Lazzeri. Additional signatures include: Meusel Beall Shocker Thomas Bengough Woods (trainer) Barnes Dugan Gilbert McQuaid Cullop Koenig Braxton Gazella Paschal Collins Smith Adams Shawsky Ward Jones OLeary Roth and Pipgras. A heavy coat of shellac protects and evenly toned ball with no significant blemishes other than some scattered nicks and an eraser-head size hole in the leather near the stampings. Features mostly bold signatures ranging from 6-9 out of 10 with Ruth and Gehrig on the high end of the range.

Includes a full LOA from PSA/DNA.
