From the personal collection of Eric Esch better known as Butterbean comes this '1994 Working Man's Champion King of the 4 Rounders' boxing belt which he has signed and inscribed "My first belt". The 5'11" 400-plus pound boxer raised in Alabama emerged from obscurity in the early 1990s by winning five World Toughman Competitions. He got the nickname "Butterbean" after being forced to go on a diet consisting mostly of chicken and butterbeans in order to meet the Toughman 400-lb. weight limit. In 1994 he won his professional boxing debut and began to garner a cult following as "King of the 4 Rounders. He barnstormed around the country winning 51 straight fights at one point including Peter McNeeley. Butterbean would eventually become the IBF World Super Heavyweight Champion in 1997 and the WAA World Heavyweight Champion in 2000. His popularity grew as he competed in WWE Kickboxing and Mixed Martial Arts as well as appearing in various TV shows and movies. He last boxed in 2013 and has a career record of 77-10-4 with 58 knockouts.
The patriotic red white and blue fabric belt features a large red square metal centerpiece with a metal king's crown piece plated in silver at center. "W.M.C. - WORKING MAN'S CHAMPION" are printed at top with "King of the 4 Rounders" etched in cursive on the bottom next to his signature and inscription. Flanking the center buckle are two colorful "NEWS 13 INSIDE LAS VEGAS" patches. The belt fastens with Velcro and a plastic buckle. It measures 50" long and weighs 2.2 pounds and comes in great condition. This novelty piece is sure to turn heads in one's colletion representing the first fight competition belt ever won by the cult celebrity American brawler who never missed a meal.
