Impressive Life Saver Special Award trophy presented to Los Angeles Laker great Elgin Baylor in November 1971. The trophy features a wooden base (7" by 7" by 4") silver-colored stem and a large cup with a gold colored Greco-Roman era figure on top with raised arms. The figure's right hand holding a victor's wreath has broken off but can be easily glued back together. An engraved metal plaque on the base reads Life Saver Special Award--November 1971--Elgin Baylor--Presented by--Life Savers. Piece overall measure 31" high and weighs around 15 lbs. Baylor's Hall of Fame playing career ended in the spring of 1971. This trophy was acquired from the Elgin Baylor Collection at public auction in May of 2013.
