Edgar Renteria was a five time MLB All-Star who played 16 years in the big leagues. In two of those seasons Renteria earned Rawlings Gold Glove awards for his fine defensive play at shortstop. It was in 2003 when Renteria earned his second Gold Glove award after compiling a .970 fielding percentage by making 191 put outs and 439 assists in 642 chances. He also helped turn 72 double plays. This lot includes the 2003 Rawlings Gold Glove Award that he received at the end of the season. The award measures 14.5 high by 17 wide and comes complete with two gold baseballs flanking a gold Rawlings PROPL4SO Model Basket Web Glove. A head-and-shoulders silhouette of Renteria is centered on a gold plaque just above another gold plaque that reads: 2003 RAWLINGS GOLD GLOVE AWARD Presented to EDGAR REBTERIA Honoring His Selection As THE FINEST IN THE FIELD. The impressive piece of hardware weighs just over 15 pounds.
