This Mizuno rose-colored game-ready bat made exclusively for Pete Rose as he mounted his assault on Stan Musial's National League hit record was intended to be as distinctive as was Rose among his peers. Unfortunately these imaginatively-colored game bats were outlawed shortly after Rose began their use. The innovative "rose" pigment did not fall within the conservative color guidelines set by the National League. The offered PR3631 bat is unused (as are virtually all rose-colored Mizuno Pete Rose bats) displaying complete manufacturer's markings (including Rose's facsimile signature on the barrel) and both factory decals (knob and upper handle). The controversial figure once known more innocently as "Charlie Hustle" has signed the barrel in 7-8/10 black marker.
