Willem van Hanegem was one of the most commanding midfielders of the "Total Football" era — a powerful, technically gifted left-footed playmaker who was an essential component of the legendary Dutch sides of the early 1970's and part of the 1974 World Cup finalist squad. This early-1970s Netherlands home jersey, made by Umbro, was match-worn by van Hanegem and carries his autograph.
The short-sleeve jersey is constructed of bright orange cotton with the iconic black Dutch lion crest embroidered on the left chest — the same bold lion design worn by the generation that revolutionized the game. The Umbro maker's label is visible at the back collar, consistent with the Netherlands' kit supplier during this period. The back displays a large white #10 in the bold block style of the era, and van Hanegem's signature appears in black marker just below. The jersey exhibits solid wear consistent with regular match use and has been authenticated by MEARS. A genuinely signed match-worn piece from a key member of Holland's greatest generation that produced some of the most beautiful football the game has ever seen.
