In 1983 the Chicago White Sox hosted Major League Baseballs annual Mid-Summer Classic the All-Star Game. It was a special occasion as it marked the 50th Anniversary of baseball All-Star Game. At that time MLB Hall of Fame pitcher Don Drysdale was working with the Chisox as a radio broadcaster. Based on his job duties at the time Drysdale received a commemorative watch for the event and was also gifted the ladies watch shown here for the woman behind the scene. The beautiful Daniel Mink quartz watch sports a gold face and a black leather band. On the back of the watch it is specially engraved with the following message: 50th ALL STAR GAME CHICAGO WHITE SOX. The game is perhaps best remembered for then-California Angels outfielder Fred Lynn's third inning grand slam. It remains the only grand slam ever hit in All-Star Game history.
