Derek Jeter remains one of the most beloved players in New York Yankees history. The recently retired longtime team captain of the Bronx Bombers Jeter earned five World Series during his 20-year tenure at shortstop and collected the most hits in team history: 3465. This lot features an original oil on canvas painting by sports artist Doo S. Oh paying tribute to the man who wore No. 2. Beautifully matted and framed the 24 x 32 painting features both a portrait of Jeter alongside an action image of him swinging through at the plate. Both likenesses of Jeter appear to be projecting out of Yankee Stadium which is positioned in the foreground of the painting. The overall presentation piece which measures 28 wide x 36 high has been signed by both Jeter (in black marker) and Oh (bottom right corner in orange paint). A moving tribute to one of Major League Baseballs most consistent players of all time.
