Presented here is historic content on life and baseball in the times of Negro League 3rd baseman David "Gentleman Dave" Malarcher. His playing career extended from 1916 to 1934, playing for the Indianapolis ABC's, Detroit Stars and Chicago American Giants well before the MLB color barrier was broken. The letter was penned in 1973.
Malarcher goes into extensive detail and it is fascinating content to ponder for you baseball historians. Malarcher passed away in 1982. Beckett has authenticated the signature.
