Incredible circa 1893 Cupid Childs Cleveland Spiders John H. Ryder Cabinet Photo that once belonged to legendary Hall of Fame pitcher Cy Young. One of the group of 7 cabinet photos sent by Young to a friend probably in the 1930's this one also has been identified in Young's own hand at the bottom "Childs". Childs was the 2nd baseman for the Spiders from 1891 through 1898 posting a .318 batting average. Cabinet photo itself is in great condition crease free with a crystal clear photo image. Black colored back is also very clean but does have a 1/2" to 3/4" strip at the top from when the cabinet was removed from an album owned by Young. Pictured photo is almost exactly the same as the one used in the extremely rare 1893 Just So Tobacco issue but with a striped collar and darker uniform.
