The Cincinnati Reds have produced their fair share of sluggers. And two of their most recent outstanding batsmen are Joey Votto and Todd Frazier. This lot feature a pair of game-used bats one each from the two long-ball hitters. Vottos 34-inch 32-ounce 2011 Cincinnati Reds Louisville Slugger bat (Model #M356) shows incredible game use and was cracked on a ground ball out on August 31 2011 against the visiting Philadelphia Phillies facing pitcher Cliff Lee. Votto went 1-for-4 in the game with a double as the Reds lost 3-0. The bat is slightly cracked on the upper handle and is covered in Mota Stick residue for nearly 10 inches on the handle. Vottos uniform number 19 appears on the knob in silver. Fraziers black Marucci bat (#SH7-M) bat is also cracked and was used by the big first baseman in July 2 2014 game against the host San Diego Padres. Frazier the 2015 Home Run Derby Champion went 2-for-4 on the night but the Reds dropped the game 3-0. Covered in Mota Stick throughout the handle the splintered crack runs nearly 13 inches long. Plenty of contact marks and bat rack marks exist throughout the barrel. Frazier signed the barrel in silver marker although the signature has deteriorated over time. His uniform number "21" is engraved in white in the bat knob.
