The following three items in this lot come from the estate collection of Hall of Fame head coach Chuck Daly two of which hold special significance from the early stages of his career in the state of Pennsylvania. Daly graduated from collage at Bloomsburg University (Bloomsburg PA) and earned his Masters at Penn State before getting his first high school coaching gig in Punxsutawney (home to the notorious groundhog named Punxsutawney Phil). From 1971-77 Daly was head coach for the University of Pennsylvania Quakers in the Ivy League. This coming on the heels of an assistant coaching gig at Duke (1963-69) and a head coaching stint with Boston College (1969-71). Before earning his first head coaching position in the NBA with the Cleveland Cavaliers in 1981-82 Daly served as assistant coach with the Philadelphia 76ers from 1978-81.

1) July 25 1989 Commonwealth of Pennsylvania House of Representatives Citation honoring Chuck Daly for his coaching achievements. The 9 1/2" by 14 1/4" blue folder with holds a lovely certificate inside signed by three esteemed government officials including then Speaker of the House of Representatives James Manderino and the Chief Clerk of the House as well. The nice message describes Daly's career resume in the state of PA. Small 1/2" tear on bottom of cover.

2) August 18 1993 Ceremonial Key to the City of Bloomsburg Pennsylvania - home of Daly's alma mater Bloomsburg University. Presented by then mayor George H. Hemingway the 9" by 12" wooden plaque includes a nice message in gold on a black nameplate.

3) February 22 1990 Honorary Citizen of Atlanta certificate presented and signed by then Atlanta mayor Maynard Jackson.

Includes copy of LOA from Terry Daly Chuck's widow. Also comes with Letter of Provenance from Rich Behar owner of SportsCard Central who acquired many items directly from the Daly estate in 2010.

Signatures on items (1) and (3) deemed "inconclusive" by PSA/DNA. They are unfamiliar authenticating these politicians' autographs.
