Originating from Christian Laettner’s personal collection, this blue uniform from the 1992 Barcelona Olympics was recently photo-matched by Sports Investors Authentication. Coming off back-to-back NCAA Championship seasons to end his storied college career at Duke, the reigning Naismith College Player of the Year was the only college player selected for USA Basketball's inaugural “Dream Team” of professional superstars. Called "the greatest collection of basketball talent on the planet" by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, the unbeatable bunch annihilated each opponent in Barcelona that summer with a 44-point average margin of victory en route to the gold medal. As the youngest member on a team full of Hall of Famers, 22-year-old Laettner played in all eight blowout wins and contributed 4.8 points per game while handling his share of "rookie" duties with pride.

The navy-blue mesh jersey is properly tagged on the left front tail including the USA Basketball Champion label, a special adjoining tag reading “DESIGNED AND TAILORED EXCLUSIVELY FOR 1992 SUMMER OLYMPIC GAMES,” and a separate Champion manufacturer’s tag (size 48) that includes washing instructions. Team name "USA BASKETBALL" along with Laettner's Olympic uniform number "4" are screen-pressed in Appliqué on the front in red with white trim, with the collar and arms trimmed in red, white and navy blue. On the reverse, "LAETTNER" is arched in white above his number “4” in red with white trim. On the left inseam are flag tags indicating "100% nylon and 3" Extra Body Length. Laettner has autographed his back number with "92 Dream Team" in 9/10 black Sharpie.

The corresponding navy-blue Champion shorts have red stripes down each side with the USA Basketball logo. Appropriate Champion size 40 manufacturer's tagging with washing instructions is found inside the rear waistband. A little further down are flag tags indicating 100% Nylon, 1" Extra Rise, 2" Extra Inseam and an important inspection tag. Laettner's uniform No. "4" is penned in black on the first flag tag (presumably by the team's equipment manager). The original drawstring remains intact.

The jersey and trunks were likely worn in multiple games during the Olympic tournament with evidence of several laundry cycles. (Laettner said he was only issued a couple sets for their eight games in Barcelona.) Only 12 men can ever say they played with the original Dream Team, and only two other players (Mullin and Malone) have willingly consigned their own uniform to be auctioned. To our knowledge, you can count on one hand the number of Dream Team game-used items ever offered that have been conclusively photo-matched. A truly historical piece from one of college basketball's all-time greats.

Comes with LOA from Christian Laettner. His autograph on the jersey was witnessed by an SCP representative; we guarantee it to pass any 3rd party authentication. Photo-match authentication paperwork from SIA is also included.
