Featured here is Christian Laettner’s game-worn, signed and inscribed Minnesota Timberwolves rookie home jersey from his personal collection.
There's no denying the accomplishments of Laettner during his college career. The 6'11 Duke legend is the only player ever to appear in four consecutive NCAA Final Fours (he started in three straight NCAA Championship games, 1990-92), winning back-to-back titles in 1991 and 1992. Laettner holds NCAA Tournament records for most career points scored (407), most free throws made and attempted (142 of 167) and most games played (23). Kentucky Wildcat fans will forever be haunted by "The Shot" in the 1992 East Regional Final. Add his Olympic gold medal as a member of the original "Dream Team" in 1992, and it's resume worth enshrinement into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame (which considers college, international and pro accolades).
The '92 Naismith College Player of the Year was the third overall pick by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the 1992 NBA Draft. While his NBA career may not have lived up to all the hype built around his college success, Laettner played 13 solid seasons and was a 1997 All-Star as a member of the Hawks. As a rookie, he started 81 games and averaged an impressive 18.2 points (highest of his career), 8.7 rebounds and nearly three assists per contest for the T-Wolves. If not for Shaq and Alonzo Mourning, those numbers would have certainly warranted consideration for Rookie of the Year honors.
The white mesh jersey has "WOLVES" on the front, with his No. "32" front and back, all coming in blue tackle twill outlined in white and green. "LAETTNER" appears on the back in blue tackle twill. The neck and armpits have blue, green and white elastic trim. On the front left tail is Champion size 48 manufacturer's tagging with washing instructions. Adjacent is the team specific "1992-93" NBA/Champion tagging with "BODY LENGTH +3" label. Inside the left inseam is the 100% Nylon materials tag. Laettner has autographed the back number '2' chest area with a "92 #3 Pick" inscription in 10/10 black marker (tough to see due to dark blue contrast). It shows light-to-moderate wear with frayed threads and some pilling visible.
This flawless Laettner signed rookie gamer comes with a letter from Laettner himself. (It should easily achieve a perfect A10 grade from MEARS if one chose to submit.) An SCP rep witnessed Christian's signature, so we guarantee it to pass any third-party authentication.
