On April 17, 1988, Christian Laettner participated in the 11th annual McDonald's High School All-American game, representing the East along with future college stars and NBA players Alonzo Mourning, Chris Jackson, Billy Owens, Anthony Peeler and the late Malik Sealy. The West squad was led by Shawn Kemp, Don MacLean, Todd Day and LaPhonso Ellis to name a few. The game was played at The Pit in Albuquerque, NM, with the East winning 105-99 behind co-MVP performances from Mourning and Owens. Ironically, the East was coached by Bob Hurley of powerhouse St. Anthony in Jersey City, NJ, whose son Bobby would later become Laettner's most important teammate at Duke.

Christian had a remarkable high school career in Buffalo, NY, and went on to have arguably the most successful college career in NCAA history at Duke under the mentorship of Coach K. A consensus All-American his final two seasons, he led the Blue Devils to their first two national championships in program history. It is worth mentioning that Laettner also made significant contributions to the team's NCAA runner-up finish as a sophomore and their appearance in the Final Four as a Freshman. Laettner had a 13-year career in the NBA after being selected third overall by the Timberwolves in the 1992 NBA draft, and he was part of the USA's 1992 Olympic gold medal "Dream Team" in Barcelona.

Presented here from his personal collection is Laettner's game worn and signed 1988 McDonald's All-American jersey. The blue mesh #42 jersey with a patriotic color scheme has his name on the back in white with all other letters and numbers done in white-on-red. Tagged by Champion on the left front tail with size XL and a 3" Extra Length flag tag, the 100% nylon jersey shows light wear appropriate for single-game usage. Laettner has signed the back '2' with his number "42" inscribed in 9/10 black marker.

Comes with a letter from Laettner himself. An SCP rep witnessed Christian's autograph, so we guarantee it to pass any third-party authentication.
