Charlie McNeil was a hard-hitting safety for the Los Angeles/San Diego Chargers from 1960 to ’64. When the franchise celebrated its 40th Anniversary in 2000 McNeil was named to the Chargers All-Time Team. This lot features his beautifully engraved and framed gold plate that he was awarded on Nov. 12 2000 during the celebratory festivities. Encased in the wooden shadowbox with a blue felt background that measures 15” wide by 15” high by two inches deep the engraved plate reads: “San Diego Chargers - 40 - 1961 to 2000 SAN DIEGO CHARGERS ALL-TIME TEAM Charlie McNeil Safety Nov. 12 2000.”
Includes Letter of Provenance from the San Diego Hall of Champions.
