Fine quality bronze medallion issued to Casey Stengel by the Helms Athletic Foundation in recognition of his leading the New York Yankees to a World Championship in 1949. Measuring 2 ¼ in diameter and 1/8 thick the heavy medallion features the Helms Athletic Foundation logo in relief on one side while the opposite side features titling and engraving that reads in part "Awarded to Charles Casey Stengel Manager New York Yankees World Champions 1949" at the top. Impressive award acknowledging Stengels first of what would be an unprecedented run of five consecutive World Championships as a manager. NM condition. Includes letter of provenance from the Stengel family.
