Former Packers legendary QB Brett Favre put up some incredible numbers during his prolific career at Lambeau Field but his start in Green Bay took a little time as he backed up Don Majkowski until Week 4 of the 1992 regular season. And thats when his record consecutive start streak officially began. Twenty-three years later he held the following NFL records: most career touchdown passes most career passing yards most career pass completions most career pass attempts most career interceptions thrown most consecutive starts and most career victories as a starting quarterback. Although recently retired Broncos QN Peyton manning surpassed Favre in both passing yards and passing touchdowns Favres numbers are still mind-boggling. In 1995 he threw for 4413 yards the highest single-season total of his illustrious career.
This lot includes a game-worn Packers helmet from circa 1992 thats been attributed to Favre. Marking his first season in Green Bay Favre went 8-5 as a starter after taking over from Majkowski but the 9-7 Pack just missed the postseason. The next year he led the Packer to another modest 9-7 record this time good enough for their first trip to the playoffs since 1982. After a thrilling 28-24 victory over the Lions in the NFC Wild Card round in which Favre threw 3 TD passes the Pack fell to the eventual Super Bowl champion Dallas Cowboys the following week in spite of a 300-yard game and 2 TD's from old No. 4. Still that was the season that set in motion Favre's path to super-stardom. Showing some game use with contact marks and paint transfers the helmet is adorned with the official NFL logo and Favres number 4 on the back. Riddell chinstrap remains intact.
