These outstanding Adidas shoes were worn by the great Kareem Abdul-Jabbar circa 1987 during the height of the Lakers-Celtics rivalry that defined an era of NBA basketball. Kareem was a record six-time NBA Most Valuable Player (MVP) a 19-time NBA All-Star and a member of six NBA Championship teams. He is the NBA's all-time leaders in points a record that may never be broken.
The Adidas white low-tops with Lakers-themed stripes display considerable game wear but remain structurally sound with all original elements intact and largely as-issued right down to the laces. This model shoe can easily be style-matched to countless action shots of Kareem from the memorable 1987 NBA Finals series (i.e. Getty 99035711). He has signed each shoe in 7-8/10 ballpoint pen on the outside front area. Truly a special pair of gamers from a significant period in the career of the player many feel is the greatest in NBA history. Autographs pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
Provenance: This lot originates from a gentleman who has enjoyed a long and successful career in Hollywood as an agent for many well-known athletes and entertainers. His professional and personal network enabled him to amass a significant collection of memorabilia nearly all of which was given to him directly from the athletes and entertainers themselves. All of these items are being introduced to the marketplace here for the first time. While our consignor remains anonymous SCP Auctions will issue an LOA for each game used item attesting to its player-direct provenance.
Payment for your invoice must clear in full prior to shipping. All items will be shipped from SCP Auctions’ Laguna Niguel, CA office in the order that payments are received.
