Ray Melchiorre was the longtime NBA trainer for the vaunted Boston Celtics teams from 1979 to 1987. The team won NBA titles in 1981 84 and 86. He taped together fingers ankles knees and shoulders ranging from Larry Birds to Reggie Lewiss. This lot features Melchiorres circa 1985 Boston Celtics warmup jacket. The 100% white button-down nylon jacket features CELTICS across the front in ironed-on green letters outlined in yellow. Both short sleeves include the Celtics green shamrock logo outlined in yellow. His last name MELCHIORRE appears on the back in white tackle twill sewn directly into a green nameplate that has been sewn directly onto the warm-up jacket. Proper tagging exists on the inside right front tail consisting of the Medalist Sand-Knit manufacturers tag including [size 42] as well as a separate Medalist Sand-Knit tag that also reads: Designed & Tailored Exclusively for the BOSTON CELTICS. The warmup jacket remains in stellar condition.
