The late Minnie Minoso played 15 seasons in Major League Baseball from 1949-64 10 of those seasons with the Chicago White Sox which earned him the nickname "Mr White Sox". In 1976 and again in 1980 the White Sox brought Minoso back as a base coach and a pinch hitter. Minoso became the third player in MLB history to get a hit after age 50 and only the 2nd player to play in 5 different decades. The spikes offered here are from his coaching/pinch hitting stint and show excellent game use. The cleats still have infield dirt caked to them and the tops of the show significant wear and scuffing most notably on the right toe. The left shoe has "MINNIE MINOSO" printed in blue felt pen on two of the Adidas stripes while the right shoe has been autographed on the sole with "#9" added. The autograph is in blue felt tip pen and shows some signs of fading but it is still legible and would rate a 7-8/10. On March 1 2015 Minoso passed away peacefully at the age of 92.
