Former NBA All-Star power forward Connie Hawkins was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1992. Also a standout player in the ABA he was named to the ABAs All-Time Team. In 1968 in fact Hawkins won the ABA MVP ABA Playoffs MVP and won the ABA Championship with the Pittsburgh Pipers. A four-time NBA All-Star his No. 42 was retired by the Phoenix Suns. But from 1973 through 75 he played for the Los Angeles Lakers and contributed greatly. This lot includes his game-worn Lakers away jersey from circa 1974. On the front center tail is heavily-faded Tiernan manufacturers tag. Across the front reads LAKERS in yellow on white tackle twill. Player number 42 appears on the front and on the back in white on yellow tackle twill. Across the back reads player name HAWKINS in yellow on white tackle twill sewn directly onto the purple mesh jersey. The jersey shows extensive laundering is slightly faded and the piping has taken on a pinkish hue. This jersey is properly tagged and shows outstanding game use by a former NBA great.
