ADDENDUM: TITLE CHANGE - THE TEAM WAS INITIALLY CALLED THE SAN FRANCISCO WARRIORS AFTER MOVING FROM PHILADELPHIA NOT THE GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS.

Here's a remarkable piece of NBA history: a letter of consent signed in Wilt Chamberlain's given name "Wilton N. Chamberlain" that featured the star's agreement that he would honor his NBA contract for the 1962-63 season "even though the team may be transferred to San Francisco." That's precisely what happened when Warriors owner Eddie Gottlieb sold the club to a group of San Francisco businessmen for $850000 so having your star player and 50-point per game scorer agreeing to show up and perform on the left coast was a pretty big deal especially in light of the fact that not everybody in Philly would make the trip. Mix in the rarity of a "Wilton" signed Chamberlain document and you have a museum-worthy artifact of the first order. The 8-by-10-inch letter is Nr-Mt and problem free and is matted with an Ex-Mt cream board to 10 1/2-by-12 inches.
