Harry “The Hat” Walker was a two-time All-Star and won the NL batting crown in 1947. Walker helped the St. Louis Cardinals win two World Series championships in 1942 and 1946, and famously had the clutch hit in ’46 that resulted in Enos “Country” Slaughter’s “Mad Dash” game winning run to beat the Boston Red Sox.
After his playing days, Walker became a coach and manager in both the minor leagues and majors. The bat offered here dates to 1959 when Walker was a coach with the Cardinals. The Hillerich & Bradsby model bat shows heavy use with a handle crack that has been repaired, and Walker has signed the barrel in sharp black marker.
The bat comes with a full LOA from PSA/DNA (1B12650) for the game use and a COA from Beckett Authentication (B53028) for the autograph.
