This lot offers a one-of-a-kind specimen that will pique the interest of political and glove collectors, alike. This pristine "Wilson" glove was manufactured for then-Senator Nixon in the 1950's, who went by the name "Dick" rather than "Richard," as the stamping on the glove would indicate. Very little use is evident, as the future president only wore it for a few moments while throwing out the first pitch at a ballgame. It was then returned to its custom walnut box (7x9x11"), affixed with a simple plaque on the front reading, "Dick Nixon." The box remains in near-mint to mint condition. Originally sold at a major auction in 2001 for $4,367.
