Among the great fighters, no other has ever retired both undefeated and still champ except Rocky Marciano. Of his 49 professional fights spanning 1947 to 1955, 43 were by knockout. After defeating Jersey Joe Walcott in 1952, Marciano defended his title six times, including two legendary bouts against former champ Ezzard Charles. This dramatic Type 1 photo shows Marciano with his backs to the ropes a place he rarely found himself during his fights. The photo has firm corners and a warm patina from age. The back has THE RING stamping along with many handwritten notations and some staining from production. The photo has been encapsulated and graded Type 1 Authentic by PSA.
