Directly from the family estate collection of Barney Stein comes this 8" by 10" original photograph of rival centerfielders Mickey Mantle and Duke Snider posing with one of The Mick's weapons of choice. The Commerce Comet looks barely of the legal drinking age in his Yankees home pinstripes alongside a handsome, smiling shot of the Duke of Flatbush in his road Brooklyn Dodgers uni. A handwritten notation in black marker on the back says it's from an All-Star Game at Ebbets Field, but the only Midsummer Classic played at Ebbets came in 1949 two years before Mantle debuted in the majors. Most likely, this was taken either during Spring Training or at an early-to-mid 1950s World Series matchup. This crystal-clear black and white original photo in flawless condition was printed off its original negative from the famous Dodgers photographer's camera many years later. The fiber-based gelatin silver print has been professionally matted and framed. This exact framed photo was on display as part of the Barney Stein Photo Collection in 2001 at the Frick Museum in Pittsburgh, PA.DATE/YEAR/ERA: Early-to-mid 1950sGENERATION: First (printed from original negative)*Guaranteed to receive PSA/DNA Type II designation if removed from frame and authenticated.
