Hall of Famer Clark Griffith was first a highly gifted pitcher (1891-1914) before taking on a managerial role (1901-20) and later a very successful life in executive capacities (Washington Senators owner 1920-55). In the American League's first year of business (1901) Griffith led the junior circuit in winning percentage going 24-7 for the Chicago White Sox. Neatly penned across much of the west panel of this OAL (Harridge) baseball is Griffith’s larger autograph in black ink warranting a rating of about 6-7/10. The ball is lightly toned with minor soiling throughout. Super rare single signed ball from a turn-of-the century baseball stud. Full LOA from James Spence Authentication.
