This is one of the great instantly recognizable memorabilia items from the famed career of Joe Louis. The 12 1/2-inch high metal figural (4 1/2-by-9-inch base) of the Brown Bomber has a bronze gilt finish with the legendary champion in his boxing pose atop an intricate and ornate wreathe configuration that has the 4-inch in diameter clock in the center (boxing gloves on each side) and a banner below reading "Joe Louis World Champion." Despite its age the figural piece is in wonderful and largely problem-free condition; the cord show a bit of the kind of wear and light fraying that you might expect but there are no such qualifiers about the piece itself which is in working order.
