ADDENDUM: JSA FULL LOA FROM 2006 CALLS THIS A 1938 AL ALL-STAR TEAM-SIGNED BALL. MORE RECENT PSA/DNA FULL LOA CALLS IT A MID-1930'S MLB STARS MULTI-SIGNED BASEBALL. MEL OTT DID NOT SIGN THIS BALL; JIMMY FOXX DID. THE ONLY NL ALL-STAR TO SIGN THE BALL WAS JOHNNY VANDER MEER.
Awesome circa 1938 American League All-Star team-signed OAL (Harridge) baseball signed by 19 including 9 Hall of Fame members. Players are: Lou Gehrig (HOF) Joe DiMaggio (HOF)(5/10) Jimmie Foxx (HOF)(7-8/10) Red Ruffing (HOF)(7/10) Lefty Gomez (HOF)(6-7/10) Bob Feller (HOF)(7/10) Earl Averill (HOF)(8/10) Charlie Gehringer (HOF)(7/10) Bill Dickey (HOF)(6-7/10) Johnny Allen (SS) Bob Johnson Johnny Vander Meer (only NL All-Star to sign) Arthur Fletcher (coach) Red Rolfe three unidentified due to handwriting and two unidentified due to lightness of signature. The Gehrig signature is missing the first name. The last name would be 7/10 but has a chip to the shellac that caused ink loss. Ball has been heavily shellacked at one time and has toned over the years. Great collection of vintage Hall of Fame signatures.
