Besides being the greatest ballplayer in the history of the game, Babe Ruth was also blessed with having the most expressive and recognizable face in all of sports. Each photo taken of The Babe is unique due to the way his eyes, mouth or forehead wrinkles all change position revealing a different mood or emotion. This tremendous portrait study of The Babe captures the great man during his long career. One can see in The Babe’s face all the years of hard living and tough ballplaying that made him the greatest of all-time. While the Babe gazes out past the photographer, this museum-worthy Type 1 silver gelatin portrait measures 7 1/2” x 10” and has a roughly trimmed and uneven border with some paper loss to the edges. The reverse has some staining from glue and is bare of any markings. A beautiful portrait study of Babe Ruth. The image has been encapsulated and graded a Type 1 Authentic by PSA.
