Circa 1923 Wright & Ditson Gold Star tennis racket match used by early star William "Little Bill" Johnston a member of the International Tennis Hall of Fame. Considered the best American player during the 1910's Johnston was ranked No.1 by the United States Lawn Tennis Association in 1915 and 1919. Vintage Wright & Ditson racket displays tremendous use with vintage tape on handle peeling numerous marks slight cracking on upper handle and bottom knob damage. Interestingly the stringing is completely in tack with not one broken. Great example of an early model tennis racket used by a Hall of Fame player.
Includes a Letter of Provenance from the Helms Athletic Foundation/LA84 Collection.
