Circa 1915 Wright & Ditson SUTTON tennis racket matched used by Maurice McLoughlin a member of the International Tennis Hall of Fame. McLoughlin was the first male tennis champion to come from the Western United States and the first American to become a finalist in the singles at Wimbledon. He was known for his powerful serve and overhead volley. "M E Mc" stamped into side of handle. Wright & Ditson racket shows tremendous use with tape on the handle splitting cracking to the rubber tip on bottom small crack at the top edge of handle and no strings present. Early racket match used by an early Hall of Fame player.
Includes a Letter of Provenance from the Helms Athletic Foundation/LA84 Collection.
