This is a truly breathtaking piece of memorabilia from the great tobacco era that linked with Major League Baseball for nearly a century but had neared a peak around the time of this circa 1910 Tuxedo Tobacco store display box. Picturing standout Boston Nationals pitcher Dick Rudolph a key member of the famed Miracle Braves of 1914 and a 121-108 lifetime mark with a 2.66 ERA the 14-by-19-inch (4 inches deep) display box is absolutely stunning in its presentation. The Tuxedo Tobacco store display pieces from that period are among the most coveted by advanced collectors and this incredible full-color artwork of Rudolph enlarged to this enormous size shows why. The display is in highly presentable condition betrayed only by the kind of wear and occasional tearing that you might expect from such a piece after the passage of a century. It is truly an extraordinary piece that has to be seen to be appreciated and certainly presents in a fashion far exceeding what its precise technical condition might dictate. Just a gem.
