The 2008 Midsummer Classic returned to Old Yankee Stadium in it final season for the fourth time after "The House that Ruth Built" hosted All-Star Games in 1939, 1960 and 1977. The American League entered this ASG on an 11-game unbeaten streak (10–0–1) as the NL continued to look for their first win since 1996. This would turn out to be longest All-Star Game in MLB history (4-hours and 50-minutes), and it also tied the mark for the longest game by innings (15) with the 1967 All-Star Game. The AL would win again, 4-3, and J.D. Drew was named MVP.
Offered here is Brian Wilson's 2008 MLB All-Star Game ring from his personal collection. This was B-Weezy's first selection from a season in which the San Francisco Giants closer racked up 41 saves. Made of Sterling Silver, the face has a large blue stone surrounded by CZs with "All Star Game 2008" around the perimeter. One shank has a 2008 All-Star emblem and a raised "NYC" while the opposite side contains the National League logo. The size 10 ring weighs 28 grams with a "STERL" hallmark inside the band. Unfortunately, the band has warped quite a bit. It's still wearable and the rest of the ring is in good shape. Comes with a Brian Wilson LOA certifying the piece as part of his personal collection.
