This large solid wood cigar humidor was created in 1997 to commemorate the closing of the Boston Garden just two years earlier. The original limit for the edition was to be 90 humidors but only five were ever completed. Of those five this is the final piece made a fact recorded in a penned notation on the interior which is accompanied by the date of manufacture and the maker's initials ("#5 of 90 - 11-11-97 - GS [for Gary Scott of Gary Scott International Inc.]"). The measurement of the surface area of the item's hinged lid is 24" wide x 16" tall and the entire unit is 9-1/2" deep. Rich burl wood cabinetry with elaborate brass pulls and hardware plus a silvery key and frontally mounted lock comprise the humidor's exterior while the interior has a removable tray and positionable slides on both levels for content centering. (This big unit is estimated to have a 1000 cigar capacity.) The crowning features for the piece are a diamond-shaped parkay inlay on the lid that sports a big Red Auerbach signature in black Sharpie (assesses at the "9" level for strength and completeness) plus a Boston Garden brick slab section with its officially numbered brass plaque ("BOSTON GARDEN - 1928-1995 - BRICK NUMBER 7074-1"). Excellent condition but will require the replacement of its original velcro mounted "Evermoist" hydrating sponge system which is now gone. Pre-Certified by PSA/DNA for autograph.
