Bobby Jones signed with Denver of the ABA on June 15, 1974 despite being the first round pick of the Houston Rockets in the 1974 NBA Draft. Jones was the ABA's field goal percentage leader in each of his two ABA seasons and was named twice to ABA's All-Defensive Team. Jones’ defensive battles with Julius Erving were legendary. In a twist of irony, the two ABA combatants later became teammates with the Philadelphia 76ers where they won a championship together in 1983.
Bobby Jones's Adidas sneaker shows excellent game use. He has inscribed the outside of the shoe in slightly faded black marker “ To J Bobby Jones #24".
