1962 New York Yankees home pin stripe flannel full uniform (jersey pants hat stirrups) game worn by former pitcher Bob Turley winner of the 1958 American League Cy Young Award. In 1962 Turley's last season in New York he posted a 3-3 record with 4.57 ERA in 24 games for the Yankees. Turley had a masterful 21-7 record with a 2.97 ERA in leading the Yankees to the American League pennant in 1958. In the World Series after a rough Game 2 start that ended in a loss he rebounded to win Game 5 by shutting out the Braves on 5 hits and pitched 6 2/3 innings of relief to win Game 7 and bring New York the World Championship. Large felt "NY" sewn on chest with large "19" sewn on back both in the same dark blue felt. "Turley" in script sewn on name plate in back of collar. Spalding size 48 tag sewn in front tail. Washing instructions sewn inside front tail. An unknown hand has written "63" in black marker below the Spalding tag on front. Jersey appears totally original and displays moderate game use.
