23-year-old quarterback Blake Bortles of the Jacksonville Jaguars is a rising star in the NFL. The 2015 Jaguars season was the franchise's 21st in the National Football League and the third under head coach Gus Bradley. The Jaguars improved on their 313 record from 2014 finishing 511 record and getting their most wins since 2011. Bortles was a big reason behind the teams solid improvement as he erupted for 4428 yards passing and 35 touchdowns behind a lackluster offensive line. The future is certainly bright for the 6'5" 230-lb. mobile gunner out of Central Florida.
Courtesy of Bortles and his agency Rep 1 Sports this lot features a pair of his game-used and dual-signed Nike 'Alpha' cleats worn during the first three games of his 2015 sophomore campaign. On Sept. 13th at home the Jags dropped their season opener to the eventual NFC Champion Carolina Panthers by a score of 20-9. The next week Sept. 20th at home the Jags outlasted the Miami Dolphins 23-20 for their first win. Bortles threw for 181 yards and one score vs. Carolina before connecting for 233 yards and two scores in the winning effort vs. Miami. Finally before hanging up this pair of cleats Bortles and the Jags traveled to New England on Sept. 27th but were dealt a bruising 51-17 defeat. Despite the lopsided loss Bortles threw for 242 yards and two TD's. The size 13 teal-and-black cleats with gold Nike Swoosh logos show considerable wear and still have some actual grass clumps stuck on the individual cleats. Moreover they carry the rather unpleasant but truly authentic stench of perspiration and foot odor. Bortles has added his autograph in 9/10 black marker on the exterior of each shoe below the "NIKESKIN" stamp on each inner ankle. The original laces are present.
