This is a spectacular full uniform worn by Bill Russell one of the great stars from the standout Los Angeles Dodgers in the 1981 World Series when the club avenged losses to the Yankees in 1977 and 1978 by slipping past the Bronx Bombers in six games. Both jersey and pants boast the W. Goodman & Sons tag Size 42 on the collar and Size 32 on the pants. The jersey also has tagging of "Set P" on gray on the lower left tail and a white tag with "1981" attached beneath it. A gray horizontal tag with "Russell 32 1/2/23 Set 2 '81" adorns the back of the waist on the pants that also has the metal zipper without signs of corrosion and in working order. Russell has installed a blazing black Sharpie autograph underneath his number on the back of the jersey; he signed a second time on the front left just below the waist. There is barely a whisper of any fraying of the delicate white stitching around the Dodgers script on the front or Russell's name or number on the back. Almost all elements of both pieces are basically as-issued and problem-free; there is a wee bit of wear causing some fabric loss on the back of the right leg perhaps from an exuberant Russell slide.
