In association with his agency Rep 1 Sports Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is offering his game-worn and autographed cleats used in his record-breaking 340-yard 6 touchdown performance in a 43-23 win over the visiting Baltimore Ravens on November 2 2014. The previous week Big Ben threw for 522 yards and 6 touchdowns (both Steeler team records) in a 51-34 win vs. the Colts (see Lot 897). Thus Ben became the first quarterback in NFL history with 12 touchdown passes over a two-game span and he did so without throwing an interception. His statline of 65/86 862 yards 12 TD 0 INT has to be the greatest statistical two-game stretch ever for a quarterback. Why would Big Ben part with such important pieces from his career? He'd rather raise money for a great cause. A portion of the proceeds will go directly towards The Ben Roethlisberger Foundation (http://bigben7.com/the-ben-roethlisberger-foundation) which supports K-9 units and service dogs of police and fire departments throughout the U.S.
Bens white black and gold Nike Superbad Pro cleats come in size 14 and show excellent game use inside and out. Grass stains coat the exterior and there are even chunks of Heinz Field mud stuck to the cleats. On each shoe Ben has added his signature in bold 9/10 black marker on the outside ankle. His jersey No. "7" is marked in black on the inner sides of both. The interior tagging reads SEASON SU14 and PROMO SAMPLE20140718 confirming that these cleats were player-issued only. A piece of paper marked "RAVENS GAME" (by team equipment manager perhaps) was found in one of the shoes. Original white laces are intact. What a treat to be able to present these record-setting cleats to the collecting community.
