Sports Illustrated magazine is a publishing institution unto itself. Covering the world of sports every week it debuted on August 16 1954 and is still going strong 61 years later. This lot includes the very first six issues of the magazine all in excellent condition from the 144-page inaugural issue with then-Milwaukee Braves slugger Eddie Mathews gracing the cover to the 76-page sixth issue which featured a pair of rodeo riders in action on its cover. The cover price for each of the first six issues was just 25 cents. A remarkable collection of six sought-after pieces of sports publishing memorabilia.
Payment for your invoice must clear in full prior to shipping. All items will be shipped from SCP Auctions’ Laguna Niguel, CA office in the order that payments are received.
