Nice shot of Mickey Mantle greeting Roger Maris after a homer on August 11, 1961. This homer would mark number forty-two on Maris' historical 1961 MLB campaign where he broke Babe Ruth's single season home run record. This game was held in Washington D.C. against the Senators and Mantle homered as well. The Yankees were victorious, finishing the game, 12-5. The photograph has no borders and measures 7.5"x9". Excellent timing by the photographer to snap the photo as soon and Mantle and Maris were embracing. The United Press International Photograph has been encapsulated and deemed Type I by PSA/DNA. UPI stamping is present on the verso.
