Andre Caldwell had a solid junior year for the Florida Gators in 2006, hauling in 57 catches for 577 yards and six touchdowns. In the 2006 SEC Championship against the Arkansas Razorbacks, the wide receiver even threw a 5-yard TD pass to help his team secure a 38-28 victory. Four weeks later, the Gators blew out Ohio State, 41-14, in the BCS National Championship to give Urban Meier his first national title and Florida its second in school history.  Played on January 8, 2007 at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, AZ with Tostitos as the title sponsor, the game marked the BCS's first standalone national title game. (Previously the BCS had rotated the deciding final game among the four major bowls.) Tim Tebow and Coach Meier would win another BCS title two years later for the Gators.

Offered here is the 2006-07 BCS National Champions ring issued to Florida's star wide receiver who would go on to have a nice career in the NFL. Manufactured by Jostens, the 10-karat white gold ring comes in Caldwell's size 11.5. Florida's second national championship (the first being with the "Ole Ball Coach" Steve Spurrier in '96) coincided with the centennial anniversary of Gator football. The face has a large "1" inset within a faceted, football-shaped blue stone on a bed of CZ's. The left shank shows "FLORIDA GATORS FOOTBALL" above a colorful, enameled Gators logo with their "13-1" season record just above. The right shank has "CALDWELL" on the top, "2007" at the bottom and the Bowl Championship Series emblem in the middle. "J 10K" is stamped inside the band. The coveted piece of jewelry comes in outstanding condition with little wear.

It is important to note that National Championship teams in football began receiving two rings in 2002, one from their school dated with the season year and the other from the BCS with the year the National Championship game was actually played. This ring is the one issued by the BCS to players and coaches. The BCS ones are considered a bit more valuable among collectors.
